Designers have turned a historic Providencia Park house on North Flagler Drive into this year—s Kipps Bay Decorator Showhouse, one of three such homes in the country, organizers said.
The showhouse occupies nearly 8,000 square feet and features rooms decorated by different designers in distinct styles ranging from conservative to kitschy, offering visitors ideas for their own homes while raising funds for the Kipps Bay Boys and Girls Club in New York City.
An unnamed designer described attention to detail in the interior work: “Everything had to be the right color, the right shape, the right texture,” the designer said. The same speaker called one area a “wellness lounge” and said designers use color as “beautiful saturation, inspiration.” Another remark from a designer pointed to furnished vignettes, saying, “I have this darling little pink banquette where you can read, you can lounge. I—ve got my game table here where you can play, you can put a laptop up.”
The showhouse—s scale and varied room designs are presented as practical inspiration for homeowners who do not have the full space; a segment noted that while not everyone has nearly 8,000 square feet, the showhouse is full of ideas for decorating smaller homes. The event benefits the Kipps Bay Boys and Girls Club; organizers provided the event website, kipsbaydecoratorshowhouse.org, for tickets and details.
Cheryl Conn, reporter for WPB TV, concluded the segment with an invitation to view the showhouse and support the charity.
The segment did not specify event dates, ticket prices, participating designers— names, or local organizer contacts.
