Town staff told the Walsburg council Nov. 7 that the Main Canyon Park trail project is complete and in the final paperwork stage, finishing under budget. Staff said the town will close out the project at next month’s meeting once final accounting is complete.
At least one councilmember noted vehicles have driven onto the trail since completion, and the county asked that a sign recognizing partial funding from the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) be added. Staff said they will work with the contractor on a change order to install regular post-mounted signs — both a no-vehicle traffic sign and a sign acknowledging TAP funding — before the project is finalized.
Staff committed to getting wording requested by the county and bringing cost estimates for the signs back to council; no formal vote was required to complete the final paperwork and finish the project.
