The Walsburg Town Council on Nov. 7 approved a renewed snowplow services agreement that lists $175 per hour for combined services (dump truck, plow, sanding and operator). The motion passed unanimously during the meeting.
Council members raised operational questions: the contract charges by the hour rather than by mile, and the council asked staff to confirm whether the contractor starts billing when it crosses the town boundary and where the jurisdictional cutoff is. Alicia Driscoll, the town clerk, was asked to email the contractor to clarify those billing practices.
Council members also reviewed recent annual totals and recalled large single-year bills. One participant cited a figure of roughly $21,000 for a heavy snow year. The clerk presented a historical summary in the meeting packet showing costs for 2022–23, 2023–24 and the current year. Councilmember Scott Larson moved to approve the agreement; Councilmember Troy Thompson seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
