Council approves building-permit recommendation for garage, greenhouse permit also approved

At the Sept. 5 meeting the Wallsburg Town Council accepted the Planning Commission’s recommendations to issue building-permit approval letters for two requests.
The council approved a building-permit approval letter for Craig Kaiser to build a detached garage; the applicant told the council he previously pulled a permit two years ago that expired. The council accepted the planning commission’s determination that setbacks and code requirements were met and voted by voice to issue the approval letter.
The council also approved a building-permit approval letter for Mylett Adams to install a kit greenhouse near a pasture corner. Staff noted the greenhouse has no permanent water or power and that the structure’s footprint exceeded the county threshold requiring a town letter. Adams was not present; the council accepted the planning commission recommendation and approved issuance of the letter by voice vote.
Outcome: Two approvals; staff to prepare and sign letters when the absent clerk returns. No amendments or permit conditions were recorded in the council vote.
