During the public comment period a speaker thanked the district for creating a dedicated special‑education position and urged the board to consider current district staff when hiring.
Allison Conte (sign‑in shown as Lisonbee Allison Conte in the meeting) praised the board and district for “finally taking special education seriously” by creating a role focused on special education. Conte said the job description appeared to limit the role to “specifically five hours of pure special ed or related” and suggested that some current employees might nearly meet but not fully satisfy that limit; she asked the district to consider internal candidates who have advanced within the district from teaching roles to administrative positions.
The board acknowledged the public comment; no formal hiring actions were taken during the meeting.
