- Approval of vouchers: Trustees approved vouchers in the amount of $7,282,744.56 covering the period 01/01/2025 through 01/31/2025. The board confirmed standard transfer and tax-settlement disbursements tied to school districts and county obligations during tax-settlement months.
- Ordinance on underpayments/overpayments: Trustees approved ordinance 2025.02-93 to create section 45-16 of the municipal code handling small overpayments and underpayments (policy allows amounts under a threshold to be held until requested by resident). Trustees discussed outreach methods to inform residents and directed staff to post information online and in communications.
- Economic Development Committee funding: Trustees voted to table the funding proposal pending more detailed numbers and ordinance language (see separate article on EDC funding debate).
- Clerk authority for operator's licenses: Trustees adopted an ordinance to authorize the village clerk to issue operators licenses consistent with a 2020 state change allowing delegation; clerk will continue to bring contested or disqualifying applications to the board for review.
- Fire department repair invoice: Trustees approved invoice 21631S for $6,024.19 to repair a 2009 Quantum Pierce apparatus that had out-of-service brake issues.
- EMS fee schedule: Trustees adopted a resolution amending emergency medical services fees (see separate article). The vehicle/transport fees remain at $1,600 for BLS and ALS transport; BLS treat-no-transport is set at $500.
- IT purchases: Trustees approved purchase of two new servers for the utility district SCADA system and one host server for the village from Supermicro for a total of $27,056.66. Staff said the servers were budgeted and part of a regular replacement cycle.
- Appointment to Silver Lake Management District: Trustees appointed Ron Gantt to the Silver Lake Management District. The vote recorded six yes and one abstention; clerk to notify the district contact and to provide meeting information to the appointee.
- Closed session actions: After moving into closed session under Wisconsin Statutes 19.85(1)(c) and (e), trustees directed staff regarding lease negotiations for village property at 9920 Antioch Road (motion recorded directing staff “as discussed in closed session”) and then voted to appoint Christopher Demick (name recorded in minutes as Christopher Demick/Demick) to the position of treasurer/financial director. The appointment vote was unanimous.
The board closed the meeting after the two closed-session votes. For several items trustees asked staff to return with clarifications or administrative follow-up at the March 10 meeting and to publish any ordinance or fee changes on the village website.
