Planning commission recommends rezoning of 1784 Benton Pike NE; county commission to vote March 3

At a Bradley County Board of Commissioners work session, Commissioner Josh Rogers said the Bradley County Regional Planning Commission recommended rezoning 1784 Benton Pike Northeast from C-1 (Rural Commercial) to C-3 (Highway Commercial) and that he had placed the resolution on the March 3 voting-session agenda.

The change would alter the property's zoning designation to allow highway-commercial uses; the parcel’s current use was described in the packet as a shop site. "The Bradley County Regional Planning Commission recommend approval of the rezoning request, and I believe that it was a unanimous thing," Commissioner Josh Rogers said. He told commissioners that Bentley, who could answer detailed questions about the request, would attend a future meeting.

Rogers told commissioners the illustrative materials and the resolution appear in the packet (he cited pages 2 and 3). No county commission vote took place during the work session; Rogers said he had put the item on the March 3 voting-session agenda for final action by the full commission.
