Elkhorn students seek board approval to build picnic tables for Veterans Park

The proposed fundraising plan is to sell additional tables with a modest markup to cover costs and then use those funds to build picnic tables for Veterans Park. Card said the students and teachers — including sixth‑grade teacher Steve Fisher — want the pupils to lead the project: "we would love to partner and get on the agenda because we do really want our students to lead this," she told the board.
No formal board action was taken on the request during the meeting; Card asked to be placed on a future agenda so students could present the project directly to the supervisors.
The board adjourned following public comment.
