Allison, Walworth County dairy educator, told the committee on Feb. 17 that Extension is delivering multiple dairy‑focused programs this spring, including a forage management workshop Feb. 27 in Whitewater and a conference on automatic milking systems in late February developed with the University of Minnesota.
She described a new program, Badger Dairy Feeding, intended as a feeding school for farm owners and employees; the series will run at five locations across the region with simultaneous Spanish interpretation and materials already translated into Spanish. Allison said some producers requested bilingual offerings for worker training.
Allison also described a repeat calf‑care program (neonate care) scheduled for March 13–14 in Fond du Lac with hands‑on sessions including a cow model for simulated assistance during calving and calf‑care demonstrations. She said the program will include UW‑Madison animal‑nutrition and veterinary speakers.
Allison reported work on a monthly bilingual PDF newsletter for dairy employees covering safety, nutrition and practical farm vocabulary to support employer‑led monthly meetings.
