Crop educator highlights Rock County Farm trials, cover crops and moth‑trapping network

Josh described nitrogen‑rate plots linked to a nitrogen‑optimization pilot funded through DACAP; the trials will evaluate municipal fertilizer products for corn and examine effects after legume cover crops.
The educator also said he is organizing a moth trapping network (green‑bucket traps) to monitor migrating pests such as true armyworm, black cutworm, fall armyworm and western bean cutworm and that he hopes to expand county participation in the network.
Josh noted Extension involvement in youth programming as part of Clover University grains sessions and said forage management workshops are scheduled for Feb. 27 in Whitewater.
