Tammy Wehner, a 19-year City of Titusville employee and the city's budget manager, was named employee of the month for February 2025, city staff announced at a Feb. 25 special recognitions and presentations meeting.
City staff member Terry said Wehner took on payroll duties after the longtime payroll accountant retired, trained two colleagues to take over payroll and maintained her responsibilities as budget manager. "A lot of people don't know what that is," Terry said of the city's tax-roll certification. "It's very important. If we don't get our tax roll certified, the city is unable to collect taxes and we're unable to collect our shared revenues." The presentation noted Wehner had served as the payroll backup before her promotion and helped the city secure that certification amid staffing changes.
The recognition packet presented to council credited Wehner with performing duties across multiple positions during a staffing transition and for training replacement staff. The council held the item as a presentation only; no formal council action was taken during the special recognitions meeting.
