After discussion about precedence (other local nonprofits might seek similar support) and budgetary constraints, commissioners directed staff to calendar the item for follow-up in a couple of weeks so staff and the commissioner who raised the issue could prepare additional options and grant-sourcing details. No appropriation or contract was approved at the briefing.
