Raymore parks report: ice rink closed, craft show sold out, park board to adopt 20‑year master plan

Parks and recreation staff reported on Feb. 24 that the ice rink season has ended and crews will dismantle the rink as weather allows, and that spring youth sports signups are ongoing.
Parks staff said the craft show scheduled for March 8 at the RAC is sold out with more than 90 vendors and that the city averaged 50 to 60 youths using indoor courts on recent school‑out days. The parks board is scheduled to meet the following day to adopt a 20‑year parks master plan; staff said the plan will later come to the council and that the board will also begin work on the FY26 capital improvement program.
Staff noted the park board has a new chair and praised volunteers and board members for their support. No council action on the master plan was taken at the Feb. 24 council meeting; the parks board will take final action at its meeting before the plan is transmitted to council for consideration.
