House Bill 1002, which allows one of the state’s already approved universal screeners to be used for pre-K teacher evaluations, passed the K-12 Subcommittee and will be forwarded to the full committee after an 8-0 vote.
Chairman Haston described the bill as a narrow change that allows an existing universal screener to be used for pre-K teacher evaluations. “This bill simply allows one of the already approved universal screeners to be utilized for pre k teacher evaluations,” Chairman Haston said. Committee members asked no questions, and the clerk recorded eight ayes.
The committee advanced the bill to full committee for further consideration.
