Hardin County commissioners approve minutes, financial reports and payables

Hardin County commissioners on Feb. 25 approved routine administrative and financial items including the Feb. 11 meeting minutes, cancellation of registered claims from Feb. 11, acceptance of cash and quarterly financial reports and authorization to pay county bills.
The court approved the Feb. 11, 2025 regular meeting minutes as presented by the county clerk, Connie Beckton. The motion was made by Commissioner Kirkendall and seconded by Commissioner Cook and passed on a voice vote with no public opposition recorded.
Deborah McWilliams presented the cash report and quarterly report for the quarter ending Dec. 31, 2024. She asked the court to "release me in the liability of $2,051,416.19" and provided account balances including "$1,438,558.70" in general checking, First Financial Bank special money market balances and tech school general balances. McWilliams reported a total of "cash funds of $30,136,135.17" and said the quarterly ending balance totaled "$18,209,099.48," noting a decrease in cash for February of "$2,043,362.69." She also reported ARPA funds and invested balances for specific accounts.
The court approved the request to cancel registered claims from Feb. 11, accept the day's cash statement and accept the quarterly report. The motion to approve was made by Commissioner Cooper and seconded by Commissioner Kirkendall; the record shows the motion passed on a voice vote.
County Auditor Angela Gore presented preapproved expenditures and other payables. Gore summarized several payment batches and said "There are total expenditures and transfers of $1,805,890.52." She also reported gross payroll and the total check spread for the payroll. The court authorized payment of county bills on a motion by Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Kirkendall; the motion carried on a voice vote.
