Moore County commissioners on Feb. 18 approved a conditional rezoning of one parcel (about 2.382 acres) at 1280 Lehman Road from Rural Agricultural (RA) to Neighborhood Business Conditional Zoning (B-1 CZ) to permit a 116-unit mini-warehouse self-storage facility proposed by Linda Dunlap.
Planning Director Deborah Ensminger described the site as currently wooded, located roughly a half-mile outside the Robbins extraterritorial jurisdiction and adjacent to the Davis Community Center. Staff said the application meets statutory and Unified Development Ordinance standards for a mini-warehouse/self-service storage use and included a site plan with a required Type-3 buffer to mitigate impacts to nearby single-family residences. The Planning Board recommended approval by an 8–0 vote.
No members of the public had signed up to speak during the public hearing. Commissioners voted to find the rezoning consistent with the county’s land-use plan and to approve the conditional rezoning; the motion passed by voice vote.
