EDA approves land-donation agreement to square off parcel near Cooper's site downtown

The Chaska Economic Development Authority on Feb. 24 adopted resolution 2025‑19 approving a land-donation agreement in which the owners of the former Cooper’s grocery parcel will donate a small green-space parcel at the southern edge of their property to the EDA.
Staff said the donated strip, located behind the former KFC/Cooper’s site along Walnut Street, will allow the EDA to assemble a more regular-shaped redevelopment parcel by combining the donated land with adjacent EDA-owned property. That reconfigured parcel will be easier for marketing and for future redevelopment planning than the current irregular shape.
