Clerk opens public hearing on annual liquor-license renewals; one license deferred pending a transfer

The governing body opened a public hearing on renewal applications for existing retail restaurant, limited retail, resort, bar-and-grill, microbrewery, satellite distillery, special malt beverage and winery permits filed with the city clerk's office.
City clerk Kylie Sutton told the council that all licensees submitted renewal applications except F and G Corporation doing business as The Green Door. The Green Door—s renewal depends on a separate transfer-of-location application to move a park license to a new address; the clerk said both the transfer and renewal would be scheduled for the March 10 council meeting and that the licensee had time to complete required paperwork before that date.
Council questions and committee referral: Doctor Aldridge asked for a tally of remaining license counts and whether licensees were in good standing with city accounts such as utilities and waste management; the clerk said retail licenses were at the limit and that once the Dog House license is returned due to its closure there would be five available bar-and-grill licenses. The council assigned the item to the finance committee for further review.
