The sponsor thanked Clerk Van Meter for assistance and noted the Ohio Municipal League and National League of Cities are aware of the issue and undertaking parallel advocacy. Councilmembers discussed forwarding the resolution — with a cover letter from council leadership and the committee chair — to the city’s U.S. House and Senate members, members of Congress who sit on the House Ways and Means Committee, and to the Ohio Municipal League.
Council agreed to place the resolution on the regular agenda for third reading; it was slated for consent on that agenda. No final vote was recorded in committee.
