Buckingham said contractors are completing approximately three classrooms per week. Work completed or underway includes new flooring, paint and installation of dry-erase/bolted-in boards; LED lighting delivery is pending and electricians have committed to weekend work to catch up installation. He described the work as minimally disruptive to day-to-day school operations and said teachers have appreciated the quicker-than-expected one-week turnaround in many areas.
The daycare area renovation has progressed: most walls are up, door frames are installed and iron/other work that would create smells while school is in session was completed during the out-of-session construction window. Buckingham estimated partial completion could be late April or early May.
The administration said it is considering an additional scope item—replacement of six gym basketball hoops and support framework—that was not in the original contract. The estimated cost for replacing all six hoops and mounts is roughly $80,000–$85,000; the superintendent said the board would see a formal request before final approval.
No final budget amendments or contract changes were approved at the meeting; the update was informational.
