The application, presented by a company representative, described a three-access design intended to separate commercial truck traffic from passenger vehicles, with the northern access for pickup trucks, trailers and RVs, a second wider opening reserved for commercial-truck access, and a third exit-only access. "The purpose... is to try to separate vehicular traffic from commercial truck traffic," the presenter said.
Roger Disler identified himself in the meeting as a representative of the fuel operator and said the center’s design aims to prevent commercial trucks from queuing onto the public roadway by providing an extra-wide second access. The presenter and an engineering consultant, Eric Carter of Y Engineers, were present to answer commissioners’ questions.
Commissioners moved and seconded the recommendation from highway staff, who reported no objections, and approved the variance requests by roll-call vote recorded in the transcript. The recorded roll call shows the motion carried.
