Hutchinson County commissioners approve auditors' reports, probation-officer bond and private road name change; table overhead-line request

The Hutchinson County Commissioners Court approved several routine administrative items, tabled a proposed overhead electrical line request and recessed into an executive session on security devices before returning with no action.

The court first approved the consent agenda by voice vote after a motion and a second. A motion to table consideration of a North Plains Electric Cooperative request to construct an overhead electrical line along County Road 19 passed after commissioners agreed to perform an on-site review before granting approval. "We just need to make sure before we approve it, it's not gonna be ... We won't approve it till somebody puts their eyes on it," one commissioner said; another moved and seconded to table the item.

The court accepted the monthly auditors' reports for the months listed on the agenda (recorded on the agenda as October '24, November '24, December '24 and January '24). Auditor Alicia told commissioners the office had caught up on backlog and that detailed fund statements are available on the county's financial transparency website.
