Shippensburg FFA students outline year‑round activities, say chapter now enrolls about 280 members

Officers described supervised agricultural experiences (SAE) ranging from placement on family farms to entrepreneurship projects, and they gave examples of recent student projects (market swine, turkeys, dairy projects) and community service (Meals on Wheels potholder project, Adopt‑a‑Highway, toy drives).
The students reviewed recent state activities: three Keystone Degree recipients from the chapter at the annual Midwinter Convention, two teams doing demonstrations at the Pennsylvania Farm Show (injection techniques and milking), and chapter participation in student competitions and leadership workshops. Officers also noted a growing program pipeline from middle school outreach and the addition of second‑level courses and a greenhouse project tied to the horticulture class.
Ending: The board and audience praised the students’ presentations. Students invited the community to the plant sale and to attend the Shippensburg Fair to view SAE projects and livestock exhibits.
