Yeadon to launch Passport parking app March 3; signs, meter removal and business outreach planned

Yeadon officials said the borough will begin using the Passport parking platform March 3 and will remove physical meters and install signs before the launch.
Public Works reported it began removing meters and installing signage on Penn Street to Myer Avenue and estimated “All signage and meters can be down by Friday of next week,” with the Passport system live on “Monday the third — March third.”
Councilor Nicole Beattie and other members asked how the borough will notify businesses that receive visitors from outside the area. Borough staff and the mayor said they will walk each business block to advise owners and distribute information, and meters and new signage will include QR codes and directions to the Passport app for drivers.
Councilors also asked for website postings and flyers so visitors and residents understand how to pay. The borough manager said the Passport platform is set up and the remaining step is installing signs and finishing meter removal; staff expect to begin enforcement after signage and materials are in place.
No ordinance or new fee was adopted at the meeting; the item discussed implementation logistics, outreach to businesses and the expected March 3 start date for the Passport parking platform.
