Zoning commission, BZA and cemetery barn plans: township to review engineered drainage assessment

A zoning commission meeting is scheduled for March 2025 at 7 p.m. in the administration building; the commission is expected to review and likely add a definition for “group home” to Chapter 4 definitions, per the zoning official who presented the update. The presenter said most of the meeting agenda is carryover from prior business.
A Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) hearing in February resulted in the case being tabled so the applicant can obtain an engineered drainage assessment; a new meeting date will be set and all affected residents will receive notification letters. The zoning official emphasized that obtaining the drainage assessment is the primary outstanding item.
The New London Cemetery submitted an application to build a barn to store equipment; the zoning official reported the application is pending engineered plans and that he will approve the permit and forward materials for building permits once the engineered drawings are provided. The official said the cemetery’s proposed building will be sited well back on the parcel and will meet setback requirements; he also noted the cemetery is a business-related property under zoning review.
The official reported continued inspections of issued zoning certificates and said 14 certificates are currently active; five were inspected during the previous week. He also noted attention to a property on Bell Road with pending judgment and other code-enforcement follow-up actions.
A trustee requested a brief executive session on matters required to be kept confidential related to zoning; the request was recorded in the meeting as part of the motion to go into executive session.
