Creekview High School: contractors report 58% complete, district seeks transformer release from CPS

Representatives from the construction team updated the Medina Valley ISD board on the Creekview High School site and building on Feb. 24, 2025, reporting that the project is roughly 58% complete and targeting substantial completion in June 2026.
R. T. Hogue of Bartlett General Contractors (contractor) said the roof is largely dried in, exterior stone and brick work is nearly finished, and metal panel installation preparations (hat channel and insulation) are underway on the second story. Hogue described interior progress—science lab casework, ceiling grids, restroom tile and serving/kitchen areas—and said temporary dehumidification units are being used to control moisture until permanent power is available so interior finishes can proceed.
On utilities, district construction staff reported that all CPS invoices for poles and service have been paid and that a final CPS inspection was scheduled; Hogue said, "we should be ready to go to where they're gonna release the transformers and we'll get on their schedule." The board later approved payment of CPS invoices for gas infrastructure to provide service to the campus in the amount of $155,227.87.
Other construction items discussed in committee and at the meeting included TxDOT driveway permitting, portable classrooms to address near-term growth, AG and ROTC project upgrades, and an anticipated stormwater participation fee for Middle School No. 3 ($93,900) the board approved later in the meeting. District staff also told trustees that E-rate equipment bids for Creekview networking arrived lower than expected and the district will apply for reimbursement once the E-rate funding window opens.
Why it matters: the construction schedule and utility hookups (power, gas, stormwater compliance) directly affect the timeline for occupancy and for secondary projects such as athletics. District staff said they have bids and project invoices ready and are advancing permitting and procurement to meet opening dates tied to enrollment growth.
