The Medina Valley ISD Board of Trustees voted on a set of consent and action items at its regular meeting on Feb. 24, 2025, approving contracts, project fees, budget amendments and personnel changes related to district growth and construction projects.
The board approved a mix of procurement and project-authority items needed to support the new Creekview High School and district operations. The board voted to: renew the District of Innovation plan; approve the 2025–26 flex calendar; award E-rate-related networking equipment contracts to United Data Technologies for Creekview High School; authorize payment of CPS invoices for gas infrastructure at Creekview totaling $155,227.87; and pay a city of San Antonio stormwater participation fee for Middle School No. 3 of $93,900. The board also approved several operating items: an extension of the district financial audit agreement with ABIP (not to exceed $55,000), a child nutrition vendor preapproval (Cisco, not to exceed $65,000), and industry-based certification testing services with the National Health Career Association ($67,835). A budget amendment reallocating $35,520 for campus allocations and testing/staff development also passed.
On personnel and governance items the board approved a revision to the 2024–25 compensation plan to add a district police officer position (proposed starting pay $28/hour) and a security specialist position (to be placed on the teacher pay scale for future hires). The board also confirmed the appointment of specific personnel authorized to carry a weapon on campus, an item handled following a closed-session review. In each case the board recorded the motion, a second, and unanimous approval from the members present.
All motions were made and carried by a unanimous vote of the board members present (four votes recorded; one trustee, Blaine Nash, was absent). The meeting minutes show routine seconding and voice votes; the board chair confirmed the motion carries in each instance.
