Presenters said the task force reviewed handbooks from other districts and a model handbook provided by the district’s legal counsel, then collaborated to draft a handbook for Battle Creek Public Schools. The group said the draft would be updated with building name changes and other technical edits prior to final approval.
Trustees asked a clarifying question about renaming of buildings and were told the draft would reflect the new building names. The board did not take a final vote on the handbook at the meeting; staff presented the draft for consideration and review.
