The Carroll County Public Service Authority voted to allow the authority to provide water and sewer service to the Settlers Landing RV Park, after staff outlined infrastructure distances and potential challenges.
Mike (staff member) reported the RV park site is approximately 9,500 feet from the low-water bridge where the authority’s water supply is located and about 3,700 feet from the nearest sewer tie-in, making sewer extension more difficult and costly. Members discussed elevation, pipe size (estimated 6- to 8-inch line at Cliffview), and the need to run lines under a bridge; staff displayed maps and said the project would likely require significant construction work.
A motion to proceed with providing water and sewer service to Settlers Landing was made and seconded; the board held a roll-call vote and approved the motion with recorded “yes” votes from Mr. Collins, Mr. Bryant, Mr. Slade, Mr. Jessup, Mr. Dixon and the presiding member.
Staff will follow up with engineering details and provide cost estimates and design options for a future meeting.
