Representative Dale Hawkins of District 2 asked the committee to introduce RS 32404, a bill that would require public schools to publish all learning materials — including textbooks, course syllabi and supplemental materials — on district websites by October of each year and would prohibit classroom instruction by school personnel on sexual orientation or gender identity from kindergarten through grade 3 or “in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students.”
