Mr. Brown, planning staff, said the amendment would allow single-family residence on the property alongside the automobile repair use that is already permitted in the PUD. He said no exterior changes are proposed other than a front-mounted sign shown in the packet, and that interior remodel plans include a proposed bedroom. Brown also told commissioners the application was submitted before the county’s new development ordinance went into effect on Dec. 18, 2024, so staff reviewed the amendment under the prior zoning ordinance adopted in 1997.
Commissioner Jones asked about a room labeled “Entertainment Room” shown on the plans; Brown suggested that area could be a customer waiting area but offered to have the petitioner answer the question at the regular meeting. Commissioners discussed scheduling and asked staff whether the petitioner could appear on the Feb. 27, Feb. 207 [sic] or March 6 regular meeting; staff confirmed availability for Feb. 27 and said they would check March 6.
No formal action was taken at the work session; commissioners directed staff to place the amendment on a regular agenda for public hearing and decision.
