Committee advances HB459 to align appropriations committee names in statute

Representative Peterson, the sponsor, said the bill "basically just aligns our appropriations committee names appropriately in statute." He told the committee the change is stylistic and procedural, reflecting organization changes made earlier in the session. There were no committee questions and no public testimony.
Senator Blum moved to favorably recommend the first substitute of HB459 and the committee voted by voice with no recorded opposition; the chair declared the motion passed "unanimous 4 to 0." The committee also agreed to place the bill on the consent calendar.
HB459 will proceed with a favorable committee recommendation and placement on the consent calendar for the full Senate to consider.
