Officials outline state-led plans to reduce traffic impacts from new school at Lovers Lane

The school intends to route buses and most traffic onto main roads and state routes and to avoid directing bus traffic through existing residential streets where possible.
The speaker said the state plans improvements at the Lovers Lane interchange, including new turning lanes in both directions and grading to improve sight lines at a hill near the end of Lovers Lane. District state engineers and the regional transportation group were reported to be working on an auxiliary lane on Route 5169 to improve access from the parkway; an auxiliary lane already exists northbound on I-169 near Lovers Lane.
Homeowners on affected parcels were told by the speaker to expect direct mail notice from the state if right-of-way acquisition or property approaches move forward. The speaker noted that the state representatives indicated homeowners would likely be informed sooner than county officials.
