Bracken County road crew reports winter cleanup, guardrail work on Gillespie Lane

Stacy, Bracken County road supervisor, told the Bracken County Fiscal Court that crews spent the recent storm period focused on snow and ice removal and related repairs. She said crews mixed salt and ash for deicing and currently have about 90 tons of salt in inventory.
The road supervisor said crews repaired doors and cleared ditches that were blocked by snow. On Gillespie Lane, staff removed part of a guardrail and widened the approach to allow semitrailer access.
Stacy also described ongoing “cold patch” pavement repairs and routine maintenance after the storm. No formal action or funding request accompanied the update.
Court members did not challenge the account; the court moved on to other agenda items after questions and brief discussion.
