Legislative committee approves 2025-26 budget, directs $4.34 million cash-fund transfer and $5,000 for youth council

Natalie Castle, director of legislative council staff, presented the legislative department budget request and supporting materials and the Executive Committee of the Legislative Council approved the legislative branch budget request, directed a $4,338,640 transfer from the Legislative Department cash fund to the general fund, and approved a $5,000 appropriation for the Colorado Youth Advisory Council (COYAC) during the committee’s meeting.

Castle told the committee the total budget request is $75,600,000 in total funds, including $73,400,000 in general fund, $457,841 in cash funds and $1,700,000 in reappropriated funds, an increase of about $1,100,000 (1.4 percent).
