The Acadia Parish School Board on Feb. 25 approved the draft 2025–26 school calendar recommended by the calendar committee.
Calendar committee members said two draft options were presented to school administrators, who were asked to consult faculty and respond via a Google form. The district reported that 23 of 26 school sites selected the calendar the committee presented. Two suggestions put forward during the consultation process were discussed by the committee and not advanced.
Board members noted the approved calendar is similar to the current year except that the district will not have an election‑day professional development day and that the Monday after Christmas will be designated as a professional development day. The calendar committee said the district’s 12‑month central‑office and 12‑month employee calendars will be based on the school calendar once adopted.
Mister Hebert moved to approve the 2025–26 calendar and Mister Seymour seconded; the motion carried by voice vote.
