Brandon Nicholas McCall, a senior at Parkview High School and a member of the Gwinnett Youth Commission, briefed the Board of Commissioners on Jan. 28 about the youth commission’s January activities and outreach plans.
McCall, speaking for the public relations subcommittee, said the group completed a goal‑setting and vision‑board exercise to prepare for the year and emphasized civic engagement and community organizing training. He said members have become active users of Volunteer Gwinnett to support county events and volunteer opportunities. McCall noted the commission planned to attend the county’s Black History Month celebration and had planned to participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade, which was canceled because of weather.
The board thanked McCall and encouraged the youth commissioners’ outreach to schools and communities as they recruit for the 2026 cohort. No board action was required on the presentation.
