Fulton County staff told the Board of Commissioners that Project Orca, the multiagency effort to clear a backlog of cases, has reached its final milestone with 138,599 case dispositions out of the original approximately 148,000, a 93 percent completion rate.
Steve Nirocci of the county's strategy office said 9,650 cases remained at the time of the report and gave a breakdown by department: state court, superior court, magistrate court and the solicitor general's offices had remaining active cases with projected timelines for closure.
