The Finance, Insurance and Section 16 Lands Committee recommended that the board approve a one‑time salary supplement equal to 5% of each employee’s base salary for all full‑time employees and regularly scheduled 20‑hour‑per‑week part‑time employees employed as of May 1, 2025, prorated for employees hired on or after Jan. 6, 2025.
Committee materials specified the supplement would be funded from the half‑cent sales tax fund and payable in May 2025. Presenters said the supplement follows the district’s prior practice of using the same eligibility and calculation rules as earlier supplements and that the district did not yet notify employees; staff planned to deliver the payments before summer break as in prior years.
Board members asked clarifying questions about eligibility (e.g., whether seasonal or 20‑hour employees were included) and whether a cap applied; presenters said the district would apply the same rules used previously. Committee member comments praised the district’s ability to fund the supplement while continuing repairs and rebuilds after storms.
The recommendation was moved by Mr. DeHart and seconded by Mr. LaGarde; no objections were recorded and the committee declared the motion moved. Staff will implement the payment process and return with any required reporting to the board.
