Probation officials said the project was approved under the FY2025 capital plan as project number 112 and will be added to existing capital project number 323. The county described the overall original capital plan as roughly $850,000; ongoing installments and a recent grant reallocation necessitated a bond for part of the current year’s costs. Committee materials identified this action as legislative request 025.
Probation staff said new body camera units have been received and the rollout is expected in March after IT resolves an issue with charging docks and bandwidth. Committee members asked for the appropriation amount; staff said the remaining installment for the coming year is approximately $1,266,009 and noted the total budgeted amount was originally about $850,000, with prior reallocations and grants reducing earlier bonding needs.
The committee approved the appropriation by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
