Mustang schools honor student leaders and all‑state music participants; local teacher wins national award

Board members and district staff recognized dozens of students from elementary and middle schools for the Bronco Leadership character awards and for selection to all‑state choral ensembles.
Assistant Superintendent Stacy Edwards and Ryan McKinney called students forward from schools across the district to present certificates for character traits including respect, dependability, leadership and integrity. The district acknowledged students from Mustang Elementary, Canyon Ridge Intermediate, Mustang Central Middle School, Mustang North Middle School, Mustang Middle School and Mustang High School among others.
Fine‑arts director Dr. Mike Ryber was recognized for being inducted into the Oklahoma Music Educators Association hall of fame; staff said that honor reflects his statewide recognition. The board also presented certificates to intermediate‑level students chosen for OKMEA and OKCDA all‑state choirs and invited teachers to deliver certificates to students.
In other recognition, the board honored Mandy Tuttle, a fifth‑grade math teacher at Canyon Ridge Intermediate, who received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching. District staff said Tuttle was one of 108 teachers nationally chosen this year and one of two from Oklahoma; the award includes a week of professional development and a $10,000 award.
These recognitions were ceremonial; no board action was required.
