Mount Pleasant Area School District honors school directors; names three students of the month

At its Feb. 25 board meeting, the Mount Pleasant Area School board accepted thank-you gifts from staff and students for School Director Recognition Month and recognized three students of the month from the district.
The Mount Pleasant Area School District Board of Directors recognized its school directors and named three students of the month at the regular board meeting on Feb. 25, 2025.
Board members were presented with thank-you items and posters created by students across the district in observance of School Director Recognition Month, which the board said the district typically marks in January but moved to February this year. District staff and a nutrition services team provided a meal for the board and executive-session participants, and several schools prepared posters and small gifts to thank directors for their service.
The board highlighted a Donegal Elementary poster, a signed poster from Norvelt Elementary that used each letter of the word BOARD to convey appreciation, and three Viking-themed trifolds from Ramsey Elementary signed by students in grades 4–6. Junior high students created about 90 individualized thank-you messages that were distributed to board members, and the senior high’s graphic-design class produced etched tumbler cups bearing the Viking logo and student last names that were given to directors.
Dr. Hudson introduced the district’s January students of the month. The board recognized senior Rylan (surname in the record: Bridal Bugosh), eighth-grader Caroline Hertz and seventh-grader Gunnar Fromstone. Each student was invited to shake hands with board members and will be photographed for the school’s hallway display.
Board members and student representatives thanked staff and student volunteers who prepared the materials. The meeting record notes appreciation for the district nutrition team and the graphic-design technology class for producing the tumblers and other items.
No formal action was required for the recognitions; the acknowledgements were given under the board report and student-recognition portions of the agenda.
The board adjourned following closing remarks and a motion to adjourn.
