LSPA outlines environmental justice grants, symposium plans and executive director search

Katie Kutzma, incoming president of the Licensed Site Professional Association (LSPA), reported the association’s plans for 2025 to the MassDEP advisory committee.
Kutzma said the LSPA will continue environmental justice grants this year, offering small grants to nonprofits, community‑based and environmental education organizations that serve Massachusetts communities with environmental justice populations. Specific deadlines will be released in the spring with application deadlines in summer 2025.
She said the LSPA’s executive director search has produced strong candidates and the association expects to announce a new executive director who would start in early May. Kutzma also described the LSPA all‑day environmental symposium scheduled for April 10 at the Sheraton in Framingham, with seven concurrent sessions and continuing education opportunities; registration was expected to open in early March and the association sought exhibitors and sponsors.
Kutzma said the LSPA surveyed members in November 2024 on demographics, salaries and barriers to licensure; over 250 respondents completed the survey and the association will summarize findings for members.
