LSP board reports disciplinary case closures, regulation amendments and exam revisions underway

Terry Wood, speaking for the LSP board, reported on disciplinary caseload, regulation amendments and exam changes during the advisory committee meeting.
Wood said that of eight disciplinary cases open about a year earlier, seven have been resolved (four dismissed, one license suspension for one year, and two voluntary license surrenders) with one remaining under investigation. The board recently accepted a new complaint for investigation.
On regulations, Wood said draft amendments approved by the board in November 2024 — which include changes to continuing education requirements and other updates — are currently in internal agency review; the timing for public notice and hearings is not yet known. On licensing examinations, the board’s exam subcommittee has amended existing questions and drafted new items to reflect MCP amendments; a psychometrician is conducting a technical review and will lead a cut‑score workshop to set passing scores. The board expects four new exam versions and hopes they will be ready by summer 2025.
Wood said the board formed a subcommittee to review application forms with the goal of streamlining a process that has not been updated in many years.
