Committee members said testing and reporting for the wastewater treatment plant remain underway; the contractor PreDoc is updating test results and additional sampling has been conducted. A Liberty Mutual compliance inspection identified playground mulch and some playground equipment issues that need attention. The committee discussed a barn/animal‑facility compliance update and an outstanding decision on the OES playground equipment.
The committee reported a fuel dispenser froze and was not dispensing diesel; the original pump likely needs replacement at an estimated cost of $85,000 to $100,000. District staff continue an asset management inventory across campuses.
On capital projects, McClure presented an HVAC proposal: the district qualified for a $250,000 grant to replace a junior high chiller that McClure estimates will cost about $325,000, leaving an estimated district share of roughly $125,000. The committee discussed whether to include the chiller in a larger future project to realize efficiencies.
Other facility items discussed included consideration of a heavier utility vehicle for grounds and light snow work, middle school asbestos removal (four classrooms per summer), a leaking auditorium roof that needs replacement, a proposed high school library renovation (new carpet and lighting), potential upgrades to the bridal barn to meet code as an agricultural building, options to resurface a driveway to the middle school softball field with millings or paving, a proposed new middle school field parking lot (to add handicap parking), an ADA‑compliant walkway along Route 401 by the softball field, PLC classroom painting and winterization planning for a decommissioned OES pending closure approval. The high school auditorium sound booth and floor were also discussed as renovation items.
No facility purchases or contracts were approved during the committee report; staff said they are gathering estimates and will return with cost comparisons and recommendations.
