Becky Quintero was re‑elected president of the Sunnyside Unified School District Governing Board and Ted Rodriguez was confirmed as clerk during the board's organizational meeting Jan. 14, following ceremonial oaths administered at the start of the session.
The reorganization began with the swearing‑in of board members by Dustin Williams, Pima County School Superintendent, who administered the oath of office. After the oath the board moved to conduct its organizational business, including officer elections and approval of the meeting agenda.
The board voted unanimously to approve the meeting agenda; roll call votes registered "aye" from board members Miguel Bustamante, Ricardo Jaramillo, Ted Rodriguez and Becky Quintero. A motion to re‑elect Becky Quintero as board president carried on a roll call vote with the same unanimous tally. The board likewise approved a motion recommending Ted Rodriguez continue as clerk for the 2025 calendar year by unanimous roll call.
Other formal motions during the organizational portion included a motion to adjourn the organizational meeting, which carried on a roll call of four ayes. The board reconvened shortly thereafter for its regular meeting.
The actions completed at the organizational session established the district's leadership for the calendar year and set the body's procedural start to the regular meeting.
