Haverford Township SD presents draft comprehensive plan prioritizing elementary growth and closing achievement gap

Miss Saxa, the district’s comprehensive planning lead, presented the draft comprehensive plan required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education at the Feb. 20 school board meeting and described priority goals, data findings and next steps toward board approval.
Saxa told the board that the comprehensive plan — which Pennsylvania requires every three years — uses mandated data reviews and a needs assessment to set measurable goals and action plans focused on continuous improvement. She said the district’s analysis shows the School District of Haverford Township performs well overall but identified two priorities: (1) promote more consistent academic growth across elementary grades, and (2) reduce the achievement gap between economically disadvantaged students and the all‑students subgroup.
