Hamilton County Board of Education officials said they paused rollout of a proposed “Help Me” student-support app after questions from board members, staff and parents about consent, data handling and messaging.
The district described the app as a three-button tool intended to let students request resources, contact a crisis counseling hotline, or ask for help that would route texts to the school’s student-support team. “We put everything on pause,” said Dr. Robertson, describing the decision as a pause to gather more input before any midyear implementation. She said the pause will allow the central office to convene counselors, social workers and other advisors to address concerns about messaging and data flow.
