School board approves consent agenda and accepts personnel administration report, both passed unanimously

The Montgomery County School Board approved its consent agenda and accepted the director—s compliance report for Executive Limitation 3, Personnel Administration, in separate votes Monday night. Both motions passed 7-0.

The consent agenda motion was moved by Mister Garland and seconded by Miss Berry; the board—s vote was recorded as 7-0 in favor. The board then reviewed Executive Limitation 3, which requires the director to assure recruitment, employment, evaluation and compensation practices that do not jeopardize district fiscal integrity or public image. The director reported that she had not changed her own compensation, that the district uses an applicant tracking system, that positions have current job descriptions and that background checks and confidentiality follow Tennessee Code Annotated. The motion to accept the executive-limitation report passed 7-0; a specific mover and seconder were not identified on the record.

Separately, a board member asked staff to review the student code of conduct as it relates to the use of communication devices and for that item to be added to an April work session agenda.
