The approvals included a $41,968 allocation for design and permitting of 2026 road projects; a $37,856 request for potholes and minor road repairs; $91,936 for fast-response unforeseen drainage issues in 2025; $43,264 for on-call engineering services (plus a $2,000 transfer from a 2024 capital code); $130,333 for 2025 ditches, culverts and swales (with roughly $37,000 carried forward from 2024); and $31,805.02 for 2025 street signs and pavement markings.
Committee members said the design and permitting expenditure is time‑sensitive because of long lead times for permitting and construction scheduling. “The reason that we need to get this design and permitting in place now is the lead time that's necessary so that we have all this in place for the 2026 projects,” General Manager Michael Bennett told the committee.
